Dar al-Kalima University, in Bethlehem, is preparing to launch its 26th international conference entitled Land, People and Culture,” in which a wide selection of academics, artists, experts, and specialists from various parts of the world will participate (Palestine, the United States of America, Sweden, Canada, Germany, Egypt, Brazil, Mexico, United Kingdom, Italy, Malta, France, Greece, Mexico, Scotland, Netherlands, Ireland, Cyprus, and Japan).
The conference is scheduled to be held between September 28 and October 5, 2023. The details of the conference will be announced during a press conference at Dar Al-Kalima University on September 20, 2023, at 11:00 am in the morning.
Rev. Prof. Dr. Mitri Raheb, founder and president of Dar al-Kalima University, confirmed: “This is the 26th international conference which coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, with the participation of about two hundred scholars and guests from twenty-five countries and more than sixty universities. This remarkable feat confirms Dar al-Kalima University’s constant interest in scientific research and cultural exchange on vital issues for Palestinian people and for today’s world.”
The conference will discuss many topics related to the land, people and culture, as it aims to provide a forum in Palestine to exchange research and promote scientific discussion and interactive dialogue between Palestinian researchers and participants from around the world.
The conference will also include the presentation of academic research and papers, art exhibitions, film screenings, international performing arts, and visits to local cultural institutions and sites. The conference will end with recommendations, consolidation of cooperation, and continuity of dialogue, leading to action steps aimed at activating the role of society at the global level.
This international conference is an essential step towards promoting more academic and cultural interaction between Palestine and the world, as the participation of researchers from various countries is an important source for discussing issues of peoples, arts, identity and land on an international scale, which provides a basic and necessary multidisciplinary, multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment to contribute to dialogues and meetings.
