Dar al-Kalima University, in the city of Bethlehem, and the representative office of the Czech Republic in Ramallah opened an art exhibition titled “Sheikh Musa” by the Czech artist Kristina Košutová , in the gallery of the University as part of Dar Al-Kalima University’s 26th international conference, “Land, People and Culture.”
The art exhibition was opened by Ambassador Jakub Šlosárek, Head of the Czech Republic Representative Office in Ramallah, and Rev. Prof. Dr. Mitri Raheb, Founder and President of Dar al-Kalima University.
Rev. Prof. Dr. Mitri Raheb gave a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and stressed the importance of organizing the exhibition at Dar al-Kalima University, especially since the university specializes in arts and culture. He also stressed the university’s devotion to continue building bridges of cooperation with the Czech Republic’s representative office.
Ambassador Jakub Šlosárek delivered a speech in which he thanked Dar al-Kalima University for their continued cooperation and spoke about the Czech researcher and explorer, Sheikh Musa. He thanked Sheikh for his will and work ethic, his ability to communicate with people, and to form lifelong friendships even with people from a different culture.
The exhibition revolves around illustrated stories on skepticism, the life of Sheikh Musa and his professional journey where the visual artist gained a new sense on life. Musa illustrates the current generation of authors communicating with global events, interacts with the latest trends, and almost for the first time in a local context, enjoys true freedom of creativity, not restricted by cultural and social censorship and rejection.
