Admission to BA programs

General rules for admission:

New students are generally accepted to and enrolled in the University at the beginning of the first semester of each academic year. The admission committee conducts admission procedures taking into account the general admission policy approved by the University Council. Applications for admission are submitted to the Dean of Admissions and Registration according to the dates mentioned in the enrollment and admission bulletin which is issued annually.

Classification of students enrolled in the University:

Students are classified into two categories when enrolling at the University:

1. Regular students are students enrolled in the university to obtain one of its academic degrees or certificates.

2. Irregular students are students who enroll in the university to study or listen to some courses and do not seek to obtain an academic degree or certificate.

Admission requirements for regular students:

New students are generally accepted into the program at the beginning of the first semester of each academic year, and limited numbers can be accepted in the second semester if the program is open or if vacant places are available. Applications for admission are submitted to the Dean of Admissions and Registration according to the dates specified in the enrollment and admission bulletin which is issued annually by the University.

The admission committee conducts admission procedures taking into account the general admission policy approved by the University Council.

The student must have a high school diploma or equivalent that qualifies them to enroll in the program as follows:

The mark cannot be any of the secondary school certificate subjects without the lower end.
The student's average in the secondary school certificate exam should not be less than the average approved by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education for university education. This average cannot be less than the minimum acceptance rate for the program to be enrolled in.
The minimum admission rate for each program is a rate approved by the University Council and it can change depending on the data that necessitated determining it originally.
The student must pass the requirements of the open day with his various activities and have the talent and ability to participate in the program (measured through a series of tests and interviews on the designated open day of the program in the presence of the Department professors and invited guests from the specialists).
The student must pass the requirements of the personal interview.
Meeting the requirements for each program according to the specialization to be enrolled in.

Admission for first year students:

• Admission of students for the first year is competitive according to the sequence of the average in the student's High School Certificate, so that this average is not less than the minimum acceptance rate for the program.
• Personal midwifery is part of the admission process for first-year students.
• The minimum acceptance rate for the program is approved by the University Council in light of the number of students who are planned to be absorbed annually in the program, and/or based on indicators required by some professional bodies in Palestine as a condition for students to join those bodies upon graduation from the University.
• All students admitted for the first year must apply for a level exam in English at the dates announced by the Dean of Admissions and Registration, and the student is enrolled in the required English courses at the University based on results in this exam. If the student's mark falls below the required mark, the student will be enrolled in a remedial English course, and upon success, will be enrolled in the required English course at the University.

Conditions for admission of students transferring from accredited universities: 

• Transfer students from other accredited universities are considered for admission if vacancies are available to them, provided that they have completed 12 credit hours or more at the University from which the transfer is intended and have also obtained a cumulative average not less than the requirement of the college to be enrolled in.
• The equivalence of the courses studied by the student at the university to be transferred to their counterparts at the university is considered, provided that no course with a mark less than 70% is transferred.
• Transfer students are required to complete at least 70% of the specialization requirements at the University.
• Personal interview is part of the process of accepting transfer students

Admission requirements for non-regular students:

The university accepts some non-regular students (those who are not seeking to obtain one of the University's scientific degrees or certificates) if vacancies are available to them, where admission priority is given to regular students. Those admitted as non-regular students are required to meet the general admission requirements at the university or to be “regular” students at recognized universities.
